A Winter Season in Ibiza

What can you do during an Ibiza Winter season? Now that the Summer season is over, the super clubs close down and the island once more becomes quiet. Some areas of the island can even feel like a ghost town, but do not fret, as there is still plenty to keep you busy during the winter months. Ibiza always has something to offer for everyone, all year round.

Halloween

With Halloween just around the corner, make sure to get involved, the parties are not over yet. Every year both Pikes and Heart put on incredible events to celebrate Halloween. You can attend Pikes The Brothers Grim Present Voodoo Rave or head on down to the Heart Horror Show.

“The Devil pulls the strings which make us dance; We find delight in the most loathsome things; Some furtherance of Hell each new day brings, and we feel only horror in that rank advance.”

Halloween at Pikes… Expect shivers to be crawling down your spine.

DC10 New Year’s Day

There is only one way to see in the New Year in Ibiza, and of course, no one would do it better than DC10. Each and every year they open their doors and dance floor, once more, to jumpstart the new year. Book your flights now, you do not want to miss this.

Flower Power Festival

January hosts the Flower Power Festival, the streets of San Antonio go wild, where upon everyone dresses up in their finest afros, flared trousers and multicoloured tie die clothing. There will be dancing and parades, and fun for all the family. This is something to look forward to once the Christmas festivities die down.

Beaches

It often surprises people to hear that the winter weather in Ibiza, is quite delightful. Yes it is much cooler, but throughout October and November, the temperatures are still warm, mild, but warm nonetheless. With no more mass crowds of tourists swamping the beautiful beaches, it is a great time of year to head down to your favourite beach, with a good book, and just enjoy the peace and quiet.

Hikes and Long Walks

There are many walking groups that run all year round, taking you on treks and hikes around the island. There are many areas of nature reserves and trails to be explored. From the Five Peaks trail to Atlantis, and many more, you will not be short of somewhere to visit. All you need is a good pair of walking boots.

Formentera

Take a 35 minute boat ride across from Eivissa and visit one of the most stunning islands. Formentera is by far one of my favourite things about Ibiza. It is a small island just across from Ibiza and the water here is crystal clear. You feel like you have discovered a small slice of the Maldives. Here you can hire bikes and cycle all around the island. Trust me, this place will steal your heart.

Ibiza Town

For a bit more hustle and bustle,  head to Ibiza town where all the restaurants, shops and bars stay open all year round. There are so many amazing tapas and seafood restaurants, as well as some great Italian restaurants too. You are spoilt for choice. There are some great shops to keep you occupied if you need a retail fix. A visit Dalt Villa is a must, and the Old Town. The old castle walls are incredible and when you walk to the very top you can see all across Ibiza town and the marina.

Peace and Quiet

And last but not least, simply enjoy the boundless peace and quiet. That book you wanted to read all Summer? Read it. The Netflix series you didn’t have time to get into? Watch it. Whether you are a full time resident on the island or visiting for the weekend, it is a beautiful place to escape the hustle and bustle of your every day life, to just do nothing. Absolute bliss.
